Job Context
  • RDRS Bangladesh is implementing Suchana Project in Upazilas/Unions of Sylhet districts led by Save the Children supported by EU and DFID in collaboration with WorldFish, HKI, IDE.
  • Position: Project Coordinator
  • Work location: Sylhet with extensive field visit.
  • Primary goal of the project: The primary goal of the project is to achieve a significant reduction in the incidence of stunting among young children in the districts of Sylhet and Moulvibazar in Sylhet Division.
  • Summary of Position: Under the overall responsibility and control, direct supervision and guidance of the Head of Programme Coordination the Project Coordinator will be responsible to plan, organize, coordinate, and supervise the efficient carrying out of Field Offices functions of the SUCHANA Project.
Job Description / Responsibility
  • Coordinate with Suchana Management as and when needed for the overall project cycle management including contract modification, approval of annual implementation plan and budget, etc.;
  • Support day-to-day coordination among Upazillas/Unions and Suchana district level activities;
  • Facilitate liaison and overall communication and coordination among centrally based Suchana technical specialists and Upazilla/Union level staffs;
  • Moderate, organize and facilitate trainings;
  • Facilitate in work planning and setting of project targets, in an integrated and coherent manner;
  • Support monitoring, evaluation and reporting of progress in project implementation and achievement of targeted results;
  • Keep liaison and functional linkage with district and upazilla administrative and lined agencies;
  • Support quality control and timely submission of all deliverables for Upazilla/Union- level project activities.
  • Represent Suchana-RDRS in different forums;
  • Support communication activities in the field level;
  • Provide support in all gender sensitive issues to the staff;
  • Facilitate the efficient operation and delivery of office support-systems and services (e.g., office facilities, IT, transportation, etc.) required to conduct all Suchana activities executed in the locations RDRS works with.
  • Facilitate the financial management team to ensure timely financial and administrative support;
  • Support compliance with procurement, accounting, documentation and reporting according to Suchana/organizational policies and procedures;
  • Coordinate staff recruitment, performance appraisal and other activities as and when required;
  • Provide guidance to all Suchana-RDRS staff, and ensure effective coordination and collaboration;
  • Approve travel and movement of the staff members as and when required;
  • Advise Suchana management on technical and administrative staffing requirements;
  • advise Suchana-RDRS on administrative and personnel management procedures and issues;
  • Support for outreach and development of partnerships with local government, civil society, or other projects working in synergy with Suchana.
Job Nature


Educational Requirements
    Masters Degree in any discipline (Agriculture/ Nutrition /Public Health will be preferred).
Experience Requirements
  • At least 7 year(s)

  • Age At most 45 year(s)
  • At least 7 years working experience of which 5 years in Managerial level with NGO/ Development Organization with special focus on and involvement in Food Security, Nutrition, Child Rights, Primary Education, UP, Community Health, Agriculture Extension service, Advocacy and Governance;
  • Sound knowledge in Food Security, Nutrition, Child Rights, Primary Education, UP, Community Health, Agriculture Extension service, Advocacy and Governance;
  • Prepare numeric and narrative report, case studies etc. in both English and Bengali;
  • Good computer skill on MS Office program and Internet navigation;
  • Good interpersonal skill;
  • Command over English and Bengali (Verbal and written);
  • Fair knowledge on action research methodology;
  • Committed to rights based and gender sensitive work, pro-poor, committed and strong civil society organizations and social mobilization;
  • Willing to work in a team and in rural context;
  • Able, willing and committed to work with people of different backgrounds;
  • Able to cope with stress and work under difficult circumstances;
  • Have to be gender sensitive with sound knowledge and experience on gender issues;
  • Willingness to travel regularly at field/ remote areas;
  • Strong leadership, analytical and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Willing to drive motorcycle;
  • Candidates having valid driving license will be preferred.
