  • Association for Realisation of Basic Needs-ARBAN, a non govt. development organization invites applications from Bangladeshi nationals for the above-mentioned position under the project `Contrasting gender discriminations and promoting social development in order to amplify the life opportunities of children and adolescents in 5 Dhaka slums
  • AID 010591/TDH/BGD (AICS)`. The goal of the project is to improve the living conditions of children and adolescents by establishing more egalitarian gender relations and expanding the choices` opportunities of adolescents and contrasting all forms of abuse, harassment and violence. The project, funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and co-funded by Terre des Hommes Italia, started in April 2016 and will continue up to December 2018.
Job Description / Responsibility
  • To conduct gender education sessions in ARBAN and partners schools;
  • To conduct gender education sessions at community level;
  • To mentor and supervise parents/guardians conducting gender sessions at community level;
  • To conduct trainings and orientation sessions as per need;
  • To support the Project Coordinator in identifying primary and secondary schools in the surrounding area interested in hosting the gender education sessions;
  • To maintain regular communication and cooperate with the Community – based Child Protection Committee;
  • To establish cordial, warm, and faithful relationship with the beneficiaries in the target areas.
  • To perform administrative duties, including participating in meetings and other activities, completing reporting requirements;
  • To prepare monthly, quarterly and field visit report;
  • To prepare monthly individual action plans;
  • To coordinate with other related stakeholders / partners for gathering reports and documents;
  • To share experiences and best practices at different levels;
  • To perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the line manager;
  • To maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism;
  • To contribute to ensure child protection policy in the workplace.
Job Nature


Educational Requirements
  • Minimum Bachelor degree in social science and other relevant fields.
  • Training on Gender, Human Rights & Women Empowerment would be considered an asset.
Experience Requirements
  • At least 2 year(s)
Job Requirements
  • Age At most 35 year(s)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in facilitating trainings with children/adolescents and community people.
  • Interpersonal and facilitation skills to work with people at all levels, motivate others and change people’s attitudes when necessary;
  • Spoken communication skills to effectively carry out the gender education sessions with different stakeholders;
  • Negotiation skills;
  • Planning skills to manage her/his own time and to meet deadlines and objectives;
  • Good time-keeping skills to effectively manage training schedules;
  • Personal commitment to improving her/his own knowledge and skills;
  • Able to work effectively in a challenging environment, as the urban slums of Dhaka;
  • Emotional stability to cope with human suffering and other stresses;
  • Good English and Bangla skills;
  • Good report and writing skills.
  • Computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel & Power Point, Internet browsing)
